How often do I need to have my medical devices checked?


The frequency of testing is set by the recommendation from the manufacturer and in accordance with the Standard. The majority of the devices are generally tested 12 monthly for both electrical safety and function, though some items can be 3 or 6 monthly. Under AS/NZS 3551:2004 the health care provider is able to undertake a risk assessment of the medical device to change the frequency of testing.
