Any medical device that comes in contact with a patient, listed below, must undergo annual safety testing (electrical and performance) in order to comply with the required Standard (AS/NZS 3551:2004). This Standard is mandatory in New Zealand and is called up under Section 46 of the Electricity Act 1997.
